Skills in Guild Wars 2

All skills in Guild Wars 2 are divided into several groups:

Weapon skills
These skills occupy the first 5 slot of the skill bar and depend on the weapon, which is currectly equiped. When switching a weapon, weapon skills change as well.

Healing skills
These skills are allocated in the 6th slot on the skill bar and used for self healing. You can change your healing skill, but your choice is resctricted by the character's profession and race.

Utility skills
These skills occupy the 7th, 8th and 9th slots on the skill bar. They can serve different purposes. You can change your utility skills, but your choice is resctricted by the character's profession and race.

Elite skills
These skills can be equiped in the 10th slot on the skill bar. Elite skills give you strong advantage and can change the fate of the battle, but have very long cooldown time. You can change your elite skill, but your choice is resctricted by the character's profession and race.

Downed skills
These skills replace your normal set of skills when you go into the downed mode. These skills are not as strong as your character's main skills, but nonetheless they give you a chance of "the last resort".

Environmental weapon skills
In Guild Wars 2 your character can interact with the nearby environment - you can pick up a rock, a stick or a pail of water. After this action your weapon skills are replaced with the unique skills relevant to a particular environmental weapon.
